How To Pick A Great Dallas Wedding Videographer
Choosing the right Dallas wedding videographer to capture your wedding day can be a challenge, if brides don't know to ask the right questions.
With all of the planning that goes into your wedding, you would hope that, with the preciousness of your wedding day memories, brides and grooms in Dallas would care to make sure their wedding videographer is a true professional, not a hobbyist using their wedding as a learning experience.
These days 40% of brides report after their wedding day, that they wish they spent MORE of their budget on their wedding video. - so that they could have enjoyed better results when they watch their wedding video year after year.
Of course you need to like your wedding videographers actual images, but here are signs of the best Dallas wedding videographer:
• Do they have experience? Are they reliable?
• How many video camera are being used? More than one camera will take more editing time and effort by your wedding videographer, but results in a better wedding video. This way your video can "cut" back and forth between multiple camera angles. 2 cameras is usually enough and 3 is even better but commands a higher price tag.
• Does your Dallas wedding videographer shoot in true High Definition (HD video). High definition will make for a beautiful wedding DVD that will be crisp and details on any size TV.
• Is your Dallas wedding videographer familiar with your wedding venue? Have they shot there before? Do they have additional lighting for areas? Lighting is key to a beautiful wedding video. Your lighting will be affected by the venue, time of day and so forth. We are experienced professionals with pro HD video cameras that work well in the full range of lighting conditions from a bright sunny day to an intimate candlelight ceremony or nightclub type of wedding reception setting.
• Put it in writing: make sure you get a written Dallas wedding video contract. That keeps everything clear and professional – including the time your wedding video editing will be complete.
• Do they offer you a true "retainer" agreement? We hear sad stories where either unprofessional or greedy wedding videographers jump ship to a different bride and groom who is buying a larger wedding package, leaving the original bride and groom (you!) stranded with little time to get a good videographer at the last minute!
That is precisely why we allow you to place us "under retainer". Better than a "deposit", your retainer with us for you wedding video guarantees your time and date are locked in NO MATTER WHAT. We operate on a "first booked, first served" basis and you can rest assured that we'll be there on time with professional equipment for beautiful results!

Your first choice for Dallas Wedding Photography 877-858-0071. |
I get all kinds of brides and grooms that are either the last-minute types of 1-2 months out up to 2 years out. But my suggestion is that you want to put a retainer fee down to reserve your wedding date, if possible, 6-8 months before your wedding day. There are several reasons why this is a good idea...
First you want to make sure your Dallas wedding photographer is available on your date. Wait too long and they're likely to already be booked – forcing you to settle for second best. I have some weddings booked just over a year out, and a few 2-3 months out, but most of them are 6-8 months prior to the wedding date.
"My wedding is closer than that, does that mean I should not bother using you as my first choice for my Dallas wedding photography?"
No, it never hurts to ask. Go ahead and let me know your wedding date, especially it is is a non-Saturday (usually Friday and Sunday are becoming more and more popular choices for weddings)
Second, booking your Dallas wedding photography with my studio means you have adequate time to get amazing Dallas Bridal Portraits and Dallas Engagement Portraits. You want time to get your dress and get it tailored / fitted. You want time to take your engagement portraits on a day in Dallas with great weather.
Lastly, it gives us time to get to know each other by working together in your bridal and engagement portraits. This frees you to enjoy the whole wedding planning and wedding day. I welcome the opportunity to serve you with great wedding photography, so call my studio at 877-858-0071 and reserve your wedding date!

Sneak Peek: Engagement - Siobhan & Jason
I had a couples session scheduled for last Monday with Siobhan and Jason that had to be rescheduled. By the time our new appointment time rolled around today, it had become an engagement session! Congrats again, you two. I used to work with Siobhan at Starbucks, where I'm pretty sure I was the only person who had previous knowledge of how to pronounce her name. I guess that's what happens when you have an obsession with Celtic music and culture... little things like popular Gaelic names come easy to ya'. I have a strong suspicion Jason knew how to pronounce her name too, because it sounds like he shares that interest. Also? He has a great dane (I have two). So between those two things and the fact that he seemed like a really nice guy when I met him today, he has my approval. I know you were looking for my approval, Siobhan. Right? Right. Anyhow, enjoy a few photos from this morning. The light was so beautiful! And it wasn't 106° yet!

Anna & Harper - Allen, Texas Wedding
I've had the joy of working for quite a few friends with camera in hand now. Anna was especially fun to work with because it was like a flashback to Pre-Calculus and Calculus every time we corresponded. That may not actually sound like fun, but trust me. It was. I met Anna in Pre-Calculus when she was assigned a seat next to me. We passed notes full of doodles, emoticons and the kind of intentionally awful grammar that makes our parents cringe, a la "lolcats". That carried over to our shared Calculus class the next year, and evidently on to wedding planning as well. She'd sign off with things like, "HOW PSYCHED ARE YOU FOR THIS WEDDING!?!?! - Bridezillarz" and I would naturally reply, "I AM SUPER PSYCHED FOR THIS WEDDING!!1!one!1! -Photographasaur" I mean, that's the only correct reply.
Anyhow, Anna and her husband Harper had the kind of wedding I love most - down-to-earth, simple joyful celebration, and all the priorities in order. They definitely recognized that if they were married at the end of the day, then their mission for the day was accomplished. If there were any real snags, I sure didn't notice. I think some items had to be retrieved from home for the ceremony, but for me, and I think for the two of them, those little snafus were completely overshadowed by the things that went perfectly. The wedding mass was beautiful (I love St. Jude's "new" Church building; I hadn't attended a mass there since the new building was built) and the sermon was heartfelt. The reception was held at a hotel on the other side of our hometown, with dancing, chatting, hors d'oeuvres, and wine aplenty. Also: Bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles.
